Thank you for your patience while we work toward enhancing a key section of our beautiful golf course. I am pleased to announce that hole 12th hole is open for play.

The view from the 12th green has been opened to more ocean views and the mounds surrounding the green have been removed or lowered. The green fits into its setting more naturally with these changes and it will feel smaller even though it is the same green! 

On hole #13 hole the sodding at the green is now complete and the green has been mowed. The sod around the green has rooted but the sod in the swail in front of the green is still to root. The hydroseeded fescue is starting to germinate on the mounds behind the green. The cool dry weather that has been very helpful in allowing the construction work to get done has not helped the new seed grow, however, the recent warm weather and a few showers are now helping. 

We are targeting mid-June to have the green on #13 in play. Of course, weather will play a big role in getting us there. The tees on #13 and #14 will be sodded this coming week. If the tees are not rooted well enough, a temporary tee will be used to get started if the green is ready before the tee.

This has been a wonderful opportunity for our club, the redesign work on this part of the property has the goal of taking full advantage of the natural shoreline for maximum impact on the golf experience. The 13th hole redesign includes a new tee location, pot bunker, roll off surrounds, chipping area, fescue mounds and takes full advantage of the hole’s proximity to the ocean. To quote the architect Christine Fraser, “I would be doing you a disservice if I didn’t throw everything I could at this hole”.

Golfers will have the opportunity to witness the new work firsthand as they travel from 12 green to the 14th hole. Please take a good look and enjoy, but we do ask you to view it from the cart path only.
