A place rich in Scottish tradition.

Here Scottish history and traditions can be found around every corner. It starts with our name, Nova Scotia, which literally means New Scotland in Latin. Our provincial flag is a blend of Scotland’s two flags, the Lion Rampant and the St. Andrew’s Cross. And whether you are hiking the Highlands of Cape Breton, visiting Pictou and discovering a replica of The Hector which brought the first Scottish immigrants to these shores, wandering around the nearby town of Pugwash where the street names appear in Gaelic or teeing off from one of Northumberland Links’ original nine holes that carry Gaelic names, you will be forgiven if for a moment you think you’re standing in the land where golf was invented.
